This is Bedtime Bossing's origin story. Get your popcorn ready.

Empowering weebs and gamers

Bedtime Bossing was created to connect video games and anime with mental health by diving into the life lessons found hidden underneath all the waifus, husbandos, and treasure chests.

BB’s goal is to provide a new perspective and mindset to empower anyone to take control of their life and improve it.

Join me in this quest to be the best version of you there can be. This is YOUR isekai story. We’ll pick up healing potions, weapons, learn some magic spells and find friends along the way as we level ourselves up to defeat the final boss — our inner demons.

Origin of the name

My favorite place to escape the confines of reality and whisk myself away to the worlds of gaming and anime is my bed. (Pro tip: investing in a nice mattress, frame and bedding is a GAME CHANGER – pun intended)

Because of that, whether it be first thing Sunday morning, 2AM at night, or middle of a rainy day, you can usually find me snuggled up in bed with some hot tea and snacks binging an anime or obsessing over a new video game.

Bossing in the gaming world refers to fighting boss after boss to farm the treasures they drop. In this world, the bosses are your inner demons and the treasure is your personal growth.

The bed is where I do most of my mental health ‘bossing’ by calming anxiety, clearing my mind, or just rewarding myself for doing me.

And just like that, voila — Bedtime Bossing.

Hello, it me!

Hi, I’m Ryan. I grew up wanting to become a doctor so I could help people. However, I realized that medicine doesn’t cure everything. When we talk about mental health, especially in today’s world where it is so predominant that almost everyone deals with some form of depression and anxiety, there’s no one-pill-heals-all. The way I see it, our mental health is strongly based off a culmination of our experiences, childhood and surroundings. It’s years in the making and that’s not something we can change overnight.

I came to the conclusion that what I wanted to do in life, was to inspire. Anime has healed my heartbreak, inspired me to work harder, and reinforced the importance of friendship. Gaming whisks me away to another world, reduces my anxiety and allows me to feel at peace. So I decided to combine my hobbies with my passion. If my experiences, mindset and words can help others get through tough times or change their perspective, that’s enough for me.

Thankfully not as heart-wrenching as most character origin stories, right?
